ADC0804LCN 8-Bit ADC PDIP-20
The ADC0804LCN device is a CMOS 8-bit successive approximation converters (ADC) that uses a differential potentiometric ladder. This converter is designed to allow operation with the NSC800 and INS8080A derivative control bus with Tri-state output latches directly driving the data bus. This ADC appears like memory locations or 1/0 ports to the microprocessor and no interfacing logic is needed.
Differential analog voltage inputs allow increasing the common-mode rejection and offsetting the analog zero input voltage value. In addition, the voltage reference input can be adjusted to allow encoding any smaller analog voltage span to the full 8 bits of resolution.
This IC is very Ideal to use with Microprocessors like Raspberry Pi, Beagle bone etc.. Or even to use as a standalone ADC module. Every ADC module requires a clock to function; this IC comes with its own internal clock so you don’t have to worry about it. Hence, if you are looking for a compact ADC module with a decent resolution of 8-bit then this IC is for you.

Notes:
- Stresses beyond those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings only, which do not imply functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated under Recommended Operating Conditions. Exposure to absolute-maximum-rated conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability.
- A Zener diode exists, internally, from VCC to GND and has a typical breakdown voltage of 7 VDC.
- Complete Technical Details and Recommended Operating Conditions can be found in the datasheet document at the end of the page.
