ATMEGA8535-16JI AVR® ATmega Microcontroller IC 8-Bit 16MHz 8KB (4K x 16) FLASH 44-PLCC SMD
The ATmega8535-16JI is an 8-bit AVR® microcontroller that combines a compact Harvard-style RISC core with on-chip nonvolatile memory and a rich peripheral set. Optimized for low power and efficient code density, it executes most instructions in a single clock cycle and achieves up to ~16 MIPS at a 16 MHz clock. The device integrates 8 KB of in-system programmable Flash, 512 bytes of EEPROM and 512 bytes of SRAM, making it suitable for embedded code and small data storage without external memory.
Hardware peripherals are comprehensive: multiple timers (two 8-bit, one 16-bit), four PWM channels, an 8-channel 10-bit ADC (with additional differential/gain options in some packages), USART, SPI and TWI (I²C) interfaces, watchdog timer, and analog comparator. The chip provides 32 programmable I/O lines and flexible sleep modes for power management (Idle, ADC Noise Reduction, Power-save, Power-down, Standby, Extended Standby). These on-chip resources let designers build responsive, low-power control systems with minimal external components.
Physically available in several packages (including 44-lead PLCC as the -16JI part), the ATmega8535 supports In-System Programming via SPI and an optional boot section for field updates. Built with Atmel’s high-density nonvolatile memory process and backed by a broad toolchain (compilers, debuggers, evaluation kits), it’s a straightforward drop-in for projects needing a capable 8-bit MCU with reliable I/O and analog capabilities.
