The BT137‑600E is a four‑quadrant, planar‑passivated sensitive‑gate triac designed for robust bidirectional AC switching. Housed in a standard TO‑220AB (SOT78) plastic package, it delivers a repetitive peak off‑state voltage rating of 600 V and a continuous RMS on‑state current capacity of up to 8 A. Its planar passivation enhances voltage ruggedness, ensuring consistent performance under demanding surge and switching conditions.

Encased in a single‑ended, heatsink‑mountable TO‑220AB body with a mounting hole on the metal backplate, the BT137‑600E offers efficient thermal dissipation to the mounting base. The three‑lead configuration comprises Main Terminal 1 (T1), Main Terminal 2 (T2, also the mounting base), and Gate (G), arranged for straightforward PCB layout and mechanical stability. Epoxy molding around the planar silicon die provides insulation and environmental protection while maintaining a low profile suitable for through‑hole production lines.
