Carbon Monoxide (CO) Gas Sensor RS-COWS-N01-2-2000P-5 RS485
The RS-COWS-N01-2-2000P-5 (RS485) is a smart CO gas transmitter combining gas, temperature and humidity sensing in one unit. It comes in a rugged, sealed enclosure to shield internal sensors from dust, moisture, and environmental stress. Its compact and modular design enables installation on walls or panels in industrial or building control contexts, with the ability to network multiple units via the RS-485 bus.
When powered (10–30 V DC), the unit initializes and stabilizes, then begins measuring ambient CO concentration, ambient temperature, and humidity at periodic intervals (every 2 seconds). The measurements are digitized and sent over RS-485 using the Modbus-RTU protocol. This digital communication mitigates the signal degradation and noise susceptibility that often affects analogue transmissions over distance.
In a networked monitoring system, multiple units can share a common RS-485 line, each with a unique address. The central controller (PLC, SCADA, BMS) polls each sensor for its current readings and can trigger actions (ventilation, alarms) based on threshold crossings. The integrated multi-parameter sensing in one package simplifies deployment and wiring, making it suitable for continuous environmental safety monitoring in parking garages, mechanical rooms, laboratories, or HVAC zones.
