The CD4538 Dual Precision Monostable Multivibrator IC DIP-16 is a dual precision monostable multivibrator IC housed in a DIP-16 package, designed for high-stability pulse generation in digital timing circuits. Each independent section is triggered by either a leading-edge (A) or trailing-edge (B) transition, providing a wide range of output pulse widths determined by external Rₑₓₜ and Cₑₓₜ components connected to pins 6, 7, 9, and 10.

The device operates across a broad supply range from 3VDC to 18VDC and features an active-low reset (CD) to immediately terminate the output pulse. Complementary outputs at Q and Q̅ provide versatile logic interfacing, while the VDD and VSS pins at 16 and 8 ensure stable biasing. Its retriggerable capability and 100ns typical propagation delay at 15VDC make it ideal for industrial control systems and precision delay applications.
