Cytron MD25HV High Voltage DC Motor Driver 25Amp 7V-58V

The MD25HV is a rugged, single-motor DC driver designed for high-voltage battery systems. It packages robust MOSFET switching and onboard control circuitry into a compact board so users can connect a wide range of brushed DC motors directly to batteries or high-voltage supplies. The board’s layout groups power, control and output points for straightforward wiring and safe handling, reducing bench time during prototyping and testing.

Built to handle demanding loads, the MD25HV balances thermal management and current delivery through active protection systems and clear front-panel indicators. The unit exposes convenient inputs for PWM/DIR control as well as potentiometer and switch control so it can be driven by a microcontroller or used standalone. Test buttons and status LEDs let you quickly verify behavior without attaching diagnostic equipment.

The manual emphasizes predictable, safe operation across a broad voltage range and gives wiring and startup guidance to avoid damage from reversed polarity or undervoltage conditions. Protective behaviors such as active current limiting and temperature-based throttling let the board deliver usable performance while guarding its power stage, making the MD25HV suitable for robotics and mobile applications where high voltage and reliability matter.

Features:
  • Supports high input voltage operation (wide 7–58 V range).
  • Up to 25 A continuous motor current capability.
  • Peak current handling for short durations (as specified in datasheet).
  • PWM/DIR control input for microcontroller interfacing.
  • Potentiometer + SPDT switch input option for standalone speed/direction control.
  • Onboard 5V output for powering small MCUs/peripherals.
  • Test buttons and motor status LEDs for quick functional checks.
  • Active current-limit, temperature protection and undervoltage shutdown.

DESCRIPTION

2

MOSFET Driver Error

This happens when there is undervoltage error or hardware failure.
Please contact support@cytron.io for more details.

3

Overvoltage Error

Power input voltage has exceeded the maximum rating. If switching power supply is being used, connect a motor shunt regulator or rechargeable battery with same voltage in parallel with the power supply. This is to absorb the regenerative energy from the motor during deceleration.

4

Overheat Error

Board temperature is over 80℃ (176℉). This is just served as a warning. The motor driver can still be safely operated.
