The FZH 211 is a bipolar integrated circuit that combines four independent two-input NAND drivers in a single P-DIP-16 package. Each gate has an open-collector output and an extra N input to support wired-AND connections and simple delay circuits. The device is designed primarily as a driver and level converter for interfacing different logic families.

A notable capability of the FZH 211 is automatic threshold changeover: the input threshold can be switched to LSL, TTL, or CMOS levels depending on the supply voltage used. That flexibility allows the IC to translate between logic families without extra external circuitry, making it suitable where mixed-level systems must be bridged.
