The HP-860D combines a jaw-type clamp for non-intrusive AC/DC current measurement with a full digital multimeter feature set. and wide measurement capability (voltages, currents up to 3000 A, resistance, capacitance, frequency, temperature, diode/continuity). Its dual LCD readout and auto-range capability make quick checks and comparisons easy.

The meter supports very large current measurements (200 A and a special 3000 A mode using the clamp), high voltage up to 1000 V DC / 750 Vrms AC (depending on range), capacitance, frequency to MHz ranges, and temperature using the included thermocouple. Built-in functions include REL, data hold, backlight, selectable manual/auto range, diode and continuity tests.

The clamp aperture is large (65 mm) to accept thick conductors or multiple conductors for coarse/large-current work. Safety is IEC-compliant for CAT III and the unit is powered by a 9 V battery.
