The Intel® Neural Compute Stick 2 (NCS 2) is a high-performance, low-power USB device designed for AI inference at the edge. Resembling a standard USB thumb drive, it integrates the Intel® Movidius™ Myriad™ X Vision Processing Unit (VPU) with a dedicated neural compute engine to accelerate deep neural network inferences. Offering up to 8 times the performance of its predecessor, the NCS 2 is supported by the Intel® Distribution of OpenVINO™ toolkit, enabling real-time, on-device AI processing without cloud connectivity. It’s an ideal tool for developers prototyping AI applications for IoT and edge devices, such as smart cameras, drones, and industrial robots.
