KYORITSU KEW 3121B High Voltage Insulation Tester
The KYORITSU KEW 3121B is a portable, battery-operated high-voltage insulation tester designed for reliable on-site diagnostics of electrical insulation integrity. Housed in a robust, water-resistant hard case, it delivers a DC test voltage of 2 500 V with automatic dual-ranging scales to cover 0 – 2 GΩ and 1 – 100 GΩ, ensuring precise readings from very low to very high insulation resistances. Its analogue needle movement is complemented by colour-coded scales and corresponding LEDs that instantly indicate whether the measurement falls within the low or high range, while an audible warning alerts the operator when high voltage is present.
Ergonomically contoured and lightweight at approximately 1.6 kg (including batteries), the instrument features a “Press to Test” button that can be locked for continuous measurement, as well as a guard terminal to eliminate surface leakage currents in cable tests. Powered by eight LR14 (C-size) cells, the KEW 3121B offers up to 55 hours of operation under typical loads, and its mechanical zero-adjustment and battery-check functions help maintain measurement accuracy in the field.
Conforming to IEC 61010-1/-2-030 (CAT III 600 V/CAT IV 300 V) and IEC 61010-031 safety standards, it is ideally suited for insulation testing of industrial installations, cables, transformers, generators, switchgear and other critical electrical equipment.
