Kyoritsu KEW 3123A High Voltage Insulation Tester
The Kyoritsu KEW 3123A is a rugged, battery-powered high-voltage insulation tester engineered for demanding field use. Encased in a drip-proof hard shell, it delivers dual DC test voltages of 5 000 V and 10 000 V to assess insulation resistance up to 200 GΩ at 5 kV and 400 GΩ at 10 kV, automatically switching between low and high ranges. A clear analogue needle movement is paired with colour-coded scales and matching LEDs, enabling instant visual confirmation of whether readings fall within the selected range. An audible buzzer warns of live high voltage during measurement.
The “Press to Test” trigger can be locked for continuous testing, and a guard terminal allows exclusion of surface leakage currents when examining cable insulation. Powered by eight AA cells, the KEW 3123A offers approximately six hours of uninterrupted operation under maximum load. Its ergonomic design measuring 200 × 140 × 80 mm and weighing about 1 kg including batteries ensures comfortable one-handed use.
