The LA4190 is a monolithic integrated circuit designed to serve as a compact, dual-channel audio power amplifier. Each channel delivers up to 2.3 W of continuous output into a 4 Ω load when operated from a single 9 V supply. Internally, the device employs complementary Darlington output stages to achieve high gain and drive capability, while minimizing external component count. A built-in muting circuit suppresses turn-on/turn-off pops, ensuring smooth transitions.

Each amplifier channel incorporates an input pre-amp, voltage gain stage, and push-pull output stage with thermal and overload protection. Feedback is applied via externally connected resistors to set voltage gain (typically 50 dB per channel), allowing the designer to tailor frequency response and stability. The device also includes built-in biasing networks for consistent quiescent current, reducing crossover distortion across temperature.

The LA4190’s low-noise pre-amp and high ripple rejection make it ideal for battery-powered audio applications.
