The LS 26500 is a robust primary lithium-thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl₂) C-size bobbin cell designed for high-energy, long-life applications. Housed in a stainless-steel container with hermetic glass-to-metal sealing, it combines exceptional mechanical strength and a low magnetic signature, making it resistant to atmospheric corrosion and ideal for demanding environments. With a nominal voltage of 3.6 V and a typical capacity of 8 500 mAh, the cell delivers stable high-voltage response throughout most of its service life, even under low-current drain conditions.

Its wide operating temperature range from –60 °C to +85 °C ensures reliable performance in extreme climates, while its low self-discharge rate under 1 % per year at +20 °C  guarantees long shelf life and readiness for use after extended storage. The LS 26500’s non-flammable electrolyte and compliance with UL Component Recognition as well as IEC 60086-4 and IEC 60079-11 intrinsic safety standards underscore its suitability for safety-critical installations.
