The MC14023B is a compact CMOS logic IC built around triple 3-input NAND gates in a 14-pin PDIP footprint. Its internal design follows complementary-MOS construction, giving the device the low static power profile and the input/output buffering typical of classic CMOS logic families. The package presents standard pin assignments so it can be dropped into breadboards or through-hole PCBs with minimal wiring changes.

Each gate implements the NAND truth-function for three inputs and is arranged so unused inputs can be tied to a defined logic level without unpredictable behavior. The device’s buffered outputs and input protection structure make it straightforward to chain gates and to interface with other logic families in mixed-technology designs.
