The MOC3042 Zero-Cross Optoisolators Triac Driver 6 Pin is a zero-cross optoisolator triac driver this Meaning it has a Infra-red Light Emitting Diode (LED) inside it coupled with a TRIAC. When the LED is triggered the TRIAC is also turned on and designed for interfacing low-voltage control circuits with high-voltage AC loads. It integrates a gallium arsenide infrared emitting diode (IRED) that optically triggers a silicon bilateral switch triac, providing safe electrical isolation between input and output. The zero-crossing feature ensures switching occurs only when the AC load voltage is near zero, minimizing electrical noise, reducing inrush current, and improving overall system reliability.
