MQ-9 Carbon Monoxide, Combustible Gas Sensor Module
The MQ-9 Carbon Monoxide, Combustible Gas Sensor Module is designed for detecting carbon monoxide (CO) and combustible gases such as methane (CH₄), propane (C₃H₈), and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Utilizing a sensitive SnO₂ semiconductor material, the sensor exhibits lower conductivity in clean air and higher conductivity in the presence of target gases. It operates by cycling between high and low temperatures to detect different gases: low temperature (1.5V) for CO detection and high temperature (5.0V) for combustible gases. The module provides both analog and digital outputs, with an adjustable sensitivity via an onboard potentiometer, making it suitable for various gas detection applications.
