  1. Mount DC gear motor holder to bottom chassis Required Parts:
    • 1 x Bottom Chassis
    • 8 x Fastener A

  2. Install motors Required Parts:
    • 2 x DC Gear Motor
    • 4 x Long Fastener (25mm)
    • 4 x Nuts
  3. Assemble Motor Driver Required Parts:
    • 4 x Standoffs 1cm
    • 4 x Fastener B
  4. Wire DC Gear Motors to Motor Driver Refer to Wiring the Robot, I – Motors section of booklet Note: Take your time with this. Important to get the wiring right.
  5. Secure Motor Driver assembly on to chassis Required Parts:
    • 4 x Fastener A
  6. Install Battery Holder Required Parts:
    • 1 x 18650 Battery Holder
    • 2 x Flat Head Fastener for battery holder
  7. Install Ball Caster Wheel Required Parts:
    • 1 x Ball Caster Wheel

  8. Assembling IR range detectors 2 Required Parts:
    • 2 x IR Detector
    • 2 x Fastener B
    • 2 x Standoff 1 cm
  9. Secure IR range detectors to chassis Required Parts:

  10. Install 3cm standoffs to chassis Required Parts:

  18. Connect 6 ribbon jumpers to motor driver Note: this set will be connected to UNO board later. Important to write down which color ribbon jumper is on what pin on the motor driver!! Required Parts:

  19. Secure UNO R3 Plus onto top chassis Required Parts:
    • 1 x UNO R3 PLUS Board
    • 1 x Top Chassis
    • 4 x plastic washer (between UNO and Standoff)
    • 4 x Fastener A (for chassis frame)
    • 4 x Fastener B (for securing UNO to standoff)
    • 4 x Standoff 1cm
  20. Install IR Follower Required Parts:
    • 1 x IR Follower
    • 2 x Standoffs 1cm
    • 2 x Fastener A (standoff to chassis)
    • 2 x Fastener B (to secure board)
  21. Install IR Receiver Required Parts:
    • 1 x IR Receiver
    • 1 x Standoff (1cm)

  22. Mount On/Off Switch
  23. Feed wires from bottom chassis through to top chassis

  26. Connect power wires to ICSP on UNO Refer to Wiring the Robot, I – Motors section of booklet
  27. Connect IR (range) Detectors to UNO Refer to Wiring the Robot, I I – IR Detector section of booklet
  28. Connect power wire to IR follower Refer to Wiring the Robot, III – IR Follower section of booklet
  29. Connect 6 ribbon jumpers onto IR Follower then to UNO Required Parts:
    • 6 x Ribbon Jumpers Refer to “Wiring the Robot, III – IR Follower” section of booklet
  30. Connect IR Receive power to IR Follower Required Parts:
    • 2 x F/F Jumper
  31. Connect signal on IR Receiver to UNO Refer to Wiring the Robot, IV – IR Receiver section of booklet Required Parts:

  32. Attach wheels Note: If the wheels are pushed in too far, it may get jammed. Required Parts:
