Power Resistor 30W 16Ω
The 30 W, 16 Ω cement-type power resistor is built around a high-alumina ceramic core with a resistor element of either metal-oxide film or resistance wire, encapsulated in a ceramic case and sealed with silicon resin (silicon cement) to provide mechanical protection and flame retardance (meets UL-94V-0). Termination is made with tinned iron caps and solderable/tinned lead wires welded to the caps, producing a compact heavy-duty package suited to dissipating significant heat.
Rated at 30 W, the resistor’s rated voltage is defined by E = √P*R (for 30 W × 16 Ω this is ≈ 21.91 V), and the part is specified for continuous operation at the rated ambient for its class (for 15 W and above the rated ambient is 25 °C; derating applies above that per the power-derating curve). It is designed to tolerate short-time overloads and pulse stresses according to the JIS-based test limits in the sheet.
