The 30 W, 8.2 Ω cement-type power resistor is built around a high-alumina ceramic core and enclosed in a robust cement-coated ceramic case. The resistive element is available as either metal-oxide film or resistance wire, embedded and sealed with silicon resin (silicon cement) to provide mechanical protection and improved heat transfer. Termination is achieved with tinned iron end caps and welded, solderable leads, forming a compact, serviceable package suited for through-hole mounting or wired connections in power circuits.

Rated at 30 W, this resistor’s rated voltage equals √(P×R), which for 30 W × 8.2 Ω is approximately 15.68 V. It is designed for continuous operation at the rated ambient for its class, with a derating curve applied when ambient temperature exceeds the rated point. The part tolerates short-time overloads and pulsed stress within the limits defined by the spec (short-time overload, pulse overload cycles, and specified maximum pulse voltages), giving stable resistance under transient and steady-state thermal loading.
