SIM808 GPS-GSM-GPRS Module
The SIM808 is a compact, surface-mount communications module that integrates a GSM/GPRS modem and a GNSS receiver into a single SMT package. It was designed to let product designers add cellular voice/data and satellite positioning without integrating multiple separate chips, saving board area and reducing development time.
The unit exposes industry-standard interfaces (UART/USB/GPIO/ADC/PCM and antenna pads) and is controlled with standard AT commands. Onboard firmware supports data protocols and networking stacks so the host can send/receive SMS, voice and packet data (GPRS) while the GNSS engine supplies position data in standard NMEA formats.
Emphasizing ease of integration, the SIM808 combines power-management modes and an embedded feature set (AT control model, TCP/IP stack support and accessory interfaces) so it can be embedded into battery-powered trackers, vehicle telematics, and other location-aware devices with minimal external components.
