UNI-T UT204A Digital Clamp Meter
The UNI-T UT204A is a 4000-count AC/DC digital clamp meter engineered for electricians and field technicians who need a compact, durable instrument with broad functionality. Built around integrated circuits and a dual A/D converter, the UT204A emphasizes safety and reliability with overload protection on all ranges and a rugged construction that passes a 1-m shock test. The meter’s clamp head converts current to a measurable voltage and is designed so a single conductor passes centrally for correct readings.
Functionally, the UT204A measures AC/DC voltage and current (including high-current conductors up to 600 A), resistance, diode, continuity, capacitance, frequency and temperature via a K-type probe. It includes auto-range behavior, relative (REL) zeroing, data-hold and auto power-off, plus buzzer and visual indicators for common test modes. Its sampling rate is ~3 samples/s and it warns users of low battery and overload conditions.
Designed for indoor use and work on residential/commercial power wiring, the UT204A features a maximum clamp opening of 28 mm (max conductor Ø26 mm), automatic polarity display, and safety ratings consistent with IEC/GB standards (double insulation, CAT II 600V & CAT III 300V where noted). Practical accessories supplied include test probes and a point-contact temperature probe, making the meter useful in HVAC, maintenance and on-site troubleshooting.
