AUTOOL AS503 Engine Oil Quality Tester
The AUTOOL AS503 is a handheld engine oil quality tester that relies on an optical detection probe to analyze the particulate content in oil. The probe is integrated with a high-precision opto-electronic sensor to ensure more accurate measurement results, and it is connected through an 800mm long flexible hose made of PTFE material, highly resistant to oil and oxidation with exceptional corrosion resistance, effectively extending the product’s lifespan.
During testing, the probe tip is submerged in the engine oil and the instrument displays the transmittance of the oil together with the current oil measurement temperature, measured by an integrated temperature sensor for convenient assessment of the engine’s operating status. The backlit 2.8-inch LCD screen provides a clear display for efficient operation in varying lighting conditions, whether bright daylight or dim nighttime.
The AS503 is compatible with the majority of gasoline and diesel engine lubricant oils available in the market. Separate sampling and measurement for gasoline and diesel engines allow for a more precise assessment of lubricant oil health. Users can select petrol (gasoline) engine mode or diesel engine mode and toggle the temperature unit between °C and °F.
The display shows the battery level, backlight indicator, sound indicator, an analog bar graph (0%-100%), the transmittance percentage, and transmittance status indications: OK (transmittance is good), a warning symbol (transmittance warning), and an X symbol (suggested to replace), related to transmittance values above 60%, between 60% and 30%, and below 30%.
The handheld portion of the body is lined with silicone substrate, providing excellent grip and a lightweight design for easy single-handed operation. The tester is powered by 4 x 1.5V AAA batteries (6V), switches off automatically after 5 minutes of no activity, and can be powered on or off with a long press of approximately 2 seconds.
