The AM26LS31C is a quad, complementary output, differential line driver designed for digital data transmission over balanced lines. It converts single-ended TTL/CMOS logic signals into balanced differential signals that comply with the ANSI TIA/EIA-422-B and ITU V.11 standards. This chip is essential for creating noise-immune communication links in industrial settings, as the differential signaling cancels out common-mode noise picked up by cables.

Each of the four independent drivers features tri-state outputs and dual enable controls (active-high G and active-low /G), allowing for flexible bus management. When disabled, the outputs enter a high-impedance state, making the device suitable for shared bus applications. Built with low-power Schottky technology, it offers a good balance of speed and power efficiency, reliably driving twisted-pair or parallel transmission lines.
