MAX7219 8X8 Dot LED Matrix Display Module
The MAX7219 is compact, serial input/output common-cathode display drivers that interface microprocessors to 7-segment numeric LED displays of up to 8 digits or 64 individual LEDs. It includes an on-chip BCD code-B decoder, multiplex scan circuitry, segment and digits drivers, and an 8×8 static RAM that stores each digit.

The set includes a display matrix of LEDs 8 x 8 complete with a controller and all necessary passive elements. The MAX7219 control system communicates via the SPI bus, which means it can be easily controlled using microcontrollers, including AVR and Arduino modules. Outputs are in a form of popular goldpin connectors (2.54 mm raster) for connecting the sensor via wires or directly to the breadboard.
