74LS193 IC Binary Up/Down Counter
The 74LS193 is a synchronous 4-bit binary up/down counter from the 74LS TTL logic family. It counts upward or downward in binary according to the clock input being activated, allowing digital systems to track increasing or decreasing values. Its four parallel outputs provide the current count in binary form, making it useful in digital control and sequential logic designs.
The IC includes separate count-up and count-down clock inputs, parallel data inputs for loading a preset value, and carry and borrow outputs for cascading multiple counters. These functions make it suitable for applications such as digital timers, position counters, programmable counting systems, and arithmetic control circuits.
