The 7412 Triple 3-Input NAND Gate is a digital logic integrated circuit containing three independent NAND gates, each with three input terminals. Each gate produces a LOW output when all three inputs are HIGH. Otherwise, its output remains in the non-conducting state, allowing the output to be pulled HIGH using an appropriate external pull-up resistor.
The IC features open-collector outputs, making it useful for wired logic connections and interfacing with compatible digital circuits. Its DIP-14 through-hole package is suitable for PCB assembly, breadboard prototyping, and educational electronics applications. Because the outputs are open-collector, a suitable external pull-up resistor is required when a defined HIGH logic level is needed.
