Applications:
- Data Routing: Efficiently routes data from multiple sources to a single destination in digital systems.
- Signal Multiplexing: Combines multiple signal lines into one, reducing the number of required connections.
- Control Systems: Utilized in control systems for selecting between different data inputs based on control signals.
These data selectors/multiplexers contain full on-chip decoding to select the desired data source. The 74150 selects one of sixteen data sources. The DM74150 has a strobe input which must be at a LOW logic level to enable these devices. A HIGH level at the strobe forces the W output to HIGH and the Y output (as applicable) to LOW. The 74150 features an inverted (W) output only.
