DS3231 RTC Breakout–Real Time Clock (RTC) Breakout Module
The DS3231 RTC Module is a high-accuracy real-time clock module designed to maintain the current time and date for embedded systems, microcontrollers, and digital electronics projects. It uses the RTC IC and communicates with the host controller through the I²C interface, requiring only two communication lines, SDA and SCL. The module can track seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year, including automatic adjustment for leap years.
A backup coin-cell battery allows the module to continue maintaining time when the main power supply is disconnected. It’s also includes temperature-compensated timing circuitry for improved accuracy compared with basic RTC modules, making it useful for clocks, data loggers, timers, scheduling systems, automation projects, and devices that need reliable timekeeping.
