The DSP56F801 is a 16-bit digital signal controller combining a high-efficiency 56800-family DSP core with microcontroller features, on-chip Flash and RAM, and a rich set of analog and timing peripherals suited for motor control, power conversion, sensing and embedded signal processing applications. The device supports high instruction throughput with hardware multiply-accumulate units, multiple internal buses for concurrent memory accesses, and integrated development/debug support via JTAG/OnCE for rapid application development and field upgrades.
