The M512x series, including the M5123/Phoenix KBC version marked as M51231P, is a highly integrated single-chip Mega I/O Controller from Acer Laboratories designed for IBM PC/XT/AT compatible desktop and notebook systems. It combines a 2.88 MB Floppy Disk Controller (compatible with 82077), two 16550 UARTs with 16-byte FIFOs and Infra-Red (IR) capability, an enhanced parallel port supporting SPP/PS/2/EPP/ECP/1284 modes, a built-in keyboard controller with PS/2 mouse interface, and a real-time clock, drastically reducing component count and board space while providing full Plug & Play configuration for Windows 95.
