The 24C02N is a tiny, non-volatile serial EEPROM providing 2K-bit storage arranged as 256 × 8-bit words. It is implemented as a two-wire (I²C) memory device and is built to be compact and easy to integrate with microcontrollers. The device is optimized for low-power operation and is offered in common space-saving packages so it can be added to small boards or legacy through-hole designs.

Memory is accessed through a two-wire serial protocol with standard start/stop, acknowledge and sequential read/write procedures. The device retains the last addressed location between operations, supports page writes, and implements acknowledge-polling to signal internal write completion. A hardware write-protect pin provides a simple way to prevent unwanted memory writes. The interface is designed to be interoperable with typical microcontroller I²C peripherals.
