BTA16-800B — 16A RMS, 800V Standard Triac (50mA Gate Sensitivity), TO-220AB Insulated Package
The BTA16-800B is a medium-current TRIAC from STMicroelectronics, suitable for general purpose mains power AC switching. It can be used as an ON/OFF function in applications such as static relays, heating regulation or induction motor starting circuits. It is also recommended for phase control operations in light dimmers and appliance motor speed controllers.
This is the insulated tab version (BTA series) featuring an internal ceramic pad, with the tab rated at 2500 VRMS, complying with UL standards. The “B” suffix denotes the standard sensitivity version (IGT = 50 mA) with 4-quadrant triggering capability.
