Unlike the standard Raspberry Pi Camera Modules, the HQ Camera features an interchangeable lens system, allowing users to select the most suitable M12 lens for their application. The back-illuminated IMX477 sensor provides improved sensitivity, excellent low-light performance, and reduced image noise.
The M12 Lens Mount version is compact and lightweight, making it an excellent choice for embedded vision systems, drones, robotics, surveillance, AI vision, and industrial automation. It connects directly to the Raspberry Pi CSI camera interface and is fully supported by Raspberry Pi OS and the libcamera software stack. The camera supports RAW image output, hardware synchronization, and high-speed video modes for professional imaging projects.
The High Quality Camera CS Mount variant is designed to accept CS-mount lenses and, with the supplied adapter, C-mount lenses.
