The 10D471K is a radial lead metal oxide varistor (MOV) engineered to safeguard electronic circuits from excessive transient voltages. Under normal operating conditions, the varistor exhibits a very high resistance and draws negligible current. When a voltage surge exceeds its threshold, the device rapidly transitions to a low-resistance state, diverting surge energy away from sensitive electronic components. This fast response mechanism helps protect semiconductors, power supplies, relays, and control circuits from damage caused by voltage spikes.
