The SAB 8284B-P is a single-chip bipolar clock generator and driver designed for Siemens SAB 8086 and SAB 8088 processors and peripherals. Fabricated using Siemens’ fast bipolar ASBC (Advanced Standard Buried Collector) process, it integrates a crystal-controlled oscillator, divide-by-three counter, system reset logic with hysteresis, and bus READY synchronization logic. It uses 30% less power supply current than standard SAB 8284A devices.
